ANANSI Academy Mission
ANANSI Academy inspires and empowers students to be lifelong learners and to be leaders that embody character, critical thinking, collaboration and citizenship. With a micro school model that includes small class sizes, holistic learning of the mind, body and soul is authentic and personalized. With the city as our classroom, students engage in ongoing field experiences and community partnerships to make learning meaningful, relevant and engaging.

ANANSI Academy. ANANSI, from a West African Folklore character, represents creativity, wisdom, strength, persistence, adaptability and resilience, all of which, and more, are nurtured amongst all learners at ANANSI Academy. The connected flower-like shape of the logo represents continuous learning, as ANANSI learners are life long learners who are connected to, and contribute to the community. Each of the eight inner and outer leaf-like dots (like the eight legs of the spider character ANANSI) represents the values of ANANSI Academy, with the student at the center, as represented by the innermost center dot. The message and the goal: we are all connected as learners -students, educators, families and community members both at a local, national and global level. We all lead, we all learn and we all inspire.
